How Moving Crate Hire Works

Hiring reusable moving boxes with Crate Crew is simple. Choose your crate package in our store, select your delivery date and time, pack and move at your own pace, then we collect the crates when your hire is complete.

Our recommended standard hire period is 2 weeks, with additional weeks available when required. The option for 1 week hire is also available, at a 10% reduced rate than the 2 week hire. This is due to delivery and collection costs remaining the same.

We Collect

Once you have finished unpacking, empty the crates and have them ready for collection. We collect them from the agreed address. 

No cardboard boxes left to flatten, store or dispose of. No trip to the recycling centre.

Additional Information:

Delivery & Collection:

All deliveries & collections must be within our postcode areas.

You must be present at the time of delivery & collection to sign for the crates. If we are unable to complete the delivery or collection due to nobody being available then you will incur a wasted trip fee of £35.

Delivery & Collection Times:

Choose your hire dates when booking. We’ll contact you after your booking to arrange convenient delivery and collection time windows. Our delivery time windows are:

•11am-8pm Monday-Saturday

•5pm-8pm Sunday

Need longer than 2 weeks?

We offer extensions to our 2 week packages for a fixed added cost to ensure you can complete your move at a pace that suits you.

If you need a last minute extension while the crates are with you, then you will need to contact us directly for an extension. As availability may not be there if it was not booked in advance.

Need only 1 Week?

We offer 1 week hire at a 10% discounted rate compared to our 2 week base package. 

While we wish we could discount this more, delivery and collection costs remain the same so 10% is the best that we can do for now.

Crate checks:

Our crates are working pieces of equipment, they will get scuffed and scratched but they will always be delivered in a clean and acceptable usable condition.

When we deliver the crates you will sign for them and agree that you are happy with both their condition, the number of crates and associated equipment received.

When we collect the crates we will conduct a quick visual check for any structural damage that would write off a crate. We understand crates get scuffed & scratched and this is acceptable.

However is a crate is damaged beyond repair, or if a crate goes missing, you could incur a damages/lost crate fee of £30 per crate damaged or lost.

If a dolly is damaged beyond reasonable wear or goes missing, you will incur a damages/lost dolly fee of £60 per dolly.

If a crate is returned unreasonably dirty or soiled, caused by use that goes against our T&C’s then you could incur a cleaning charge of £10 per crate.
